Lake Highlands Girls Classic League Qualifying

FCDY 91G Red - After eight years of playing in the Plano Premier League at various divisions, the 91 Girls Red qualified for LHGCL! Coached by Mike Wilson and lead on the field by captains Marie Askew & Tarynn Broussard, the team outscored their opponents five to one. Three of the five goals were scored by Lillian "The Bus Driver" DeLeon. The team is excited to play their Senior year in Classic League.

FCDY 95G Red – The team are glad to be back in the LHGCL after getting knocked out last year by 1 point.  Coach Darrin Hedges and his side had an outstanding two weekends, giving up only two goals in six games.  Goalkeeper Courtney Burnette, along with defenders Alex Parish, Madison Deen, Emily Preston, and Priscilla Jamaica worked together to create a rock solid defense.   “A combination of hard work, talent, and heart is why these girls are back”, said Hedges.

FCDY 97G White – Keith Williams group re-qualified for LHGCL Division III after surviving a tough qualifying group. The teams training and organization was clearly visible as the girls only conceded two goals.

FCDY 98G Blue - They qualified for LHGCL Division 1 in just 3 games!  The girls came out ready to play and scored 30 goals in 3 games with NO goals scored against them!  The team had 10 different goal scorers over the weekend, so it was definitely a team effort. All of their hard work has paid off and they are ready for the season to start!

FCDY 98G – Also qualified for Division 1 Girls Classic League after three games in which they scored 20 goals and allowed 0. The girls also allowed 0 shots on goal. Their first game against Manchester SC went in favor of FC Dallas 98 8-0. The second game went much the same and finished 8-0. In the final game on Sunday the girls managed to secure a spot in division 1 after a slow start and a 0-0 stand still at half time. They bounced back in the second half putting 4 goals on the board to finish off a near-perfect weekend.

FCDY 98G White – The team finished an outstanding Qualifying tournament earning an invitation to Division 2 of the Lake Highlands Girls Classic League. They guaranteed their spot in classic league the first weekend with 3-0 and 1-0 victories and gave up a goal in the last 5 minutes of the 3rd game in a  1-0 loss to a D1 qualifying team. The 2nd weekend was another great team effort dominating 2 or the 3 games. This was an outstanding team effort.

FCDY 98G South - After a good first weekend of qualifying games going 2-0-1 FCDY 98G South set themselves up for a guaranteed spot the LHGCL. During the second weekend FCDY 98G South opened up with an impressive 2-0 win over Texas FC but stumbled in their next match against Revolution in a 1 to 0 defeat. That loss made their last game on Sunday vs. Xcelex that much more important needing to score just 1 goal to lock up a division 2 spot. The clincher came about halfway through the second half with a nice cross from Julia and a beautiful finish by Avery to seal their fate in D2!

Congratulations & good luck to all these teams!

FC Girl's Teams Shine at USYS Southern Regionals

91's are Regional Finalist!  93's Finish Third!

RALEIGH, North Carolina - FC Dallas Youth 91 came within one game of representing Region III in the U-17 age group at Nationals, but in the end fell 1-0 in the Final.  The team had to first survive the "group of death" to get out of their bracket, then had to fend off Premier League rivals Austin Lonestar & Dallas Sting respectfully.  Shelby Hartweck led the team with five goals before prematurely ending her week with an injury in the Semi-Final.  Rachel Garcia, Jordan Leinweaver, and Morgan Johnson were outstanding the entire week in central defense.

FC Dallas Youth 93 also had a great week.  Unfortuneately, Elizabeth Darden's goal in the Semi's was not enough and the girls fell to eventual champion Lonestar 2-1.  The team defeated State Cup champions from North Carolina, Tennessee, & Georgia on the road to their third place finish.  Goalkeeper Holly Reilly was excellent for the hoops while Lindsay Frank & Lauren Shaw anchored FC's defense. Attacking duo Natalie Huggins & Ali Tripp kept opposing teams off balance all week.

Both teams are coached by Chris Ring.  Congrats Girls!

FC Dallas 91 Blue finish National Runner-Up at USYS Directors Cup

KIRKWOOD, Delaware - Keith Williams' FC Dallas Blue 91 Girl's team saw their USYS Director's Cup title fall one goal short, finding themselves on the losing end of a hard fought 1-0 final.  In order to even get to Nationals the team first had to first travel to the regional event in Georgia where they took the regional title.  Along the way the girls beat teams from Louisiana, Florida, North Carolina, South Carolina, Rhode Island, and Pennsylvania.
